Michael von Arx is Umpqua Health’s Chief Administrative Officer. Michael is responsible for ensuring the organization’s health plan and clinic operations are functioning effectively and efficiently.

He also acts as the organization’s liaison with the Oregon Health Authority, advocating for Umpqua Health Alliance on key contractual initiatives and compliance. Additionally, Michael serves as the organization’s Compliance Officer, privacy and security official.

Michael comes to Umpqua Health with vast experience in managing and leading compliance programs in managed Medicaid and Medicare, mental health, and provider practices. Additionally, Michael has been an adjunct faculty at a university, teaching several courses related to health care compliance.

Michael holds bachelor degrees in Psychology and German from Portland State University, a Master’s of Arts in Counseling, and Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Pacific University. He is also certified in health care compliance.
