What is New Day?
Our New Day program gives extra support to pregnant members who are facing or have faced mental health concerns or substance use. Care coordinators work closely with you to connect you to the care and services you need, like counseling, treatment options, prenatal care, and help after your baby is born. We also help with things like finding housing, getting rides to appointments, and making sure you and your baby stay safe and healthy.
What to Expect and How We Support You
Our team works with you, your doctor, and local programs to make sure you get the help and support you need during your pregnancy.
The New Day program can help you with:
- Understanding what you need
- Giving emotional support and someone to talk to
- Helping you get to your appointments
- Getting medicine to treat substance use, like methadone or Suboxone
- Finding treatment programs if you need them
- Support to help you quit smoking
- Setting up and keeping track of your appointments
- Finding helpful programs in your community
We’re here to help you and your baby stay safe and healthy every step of the way.
How New Day Can Help You and Your Baby
Many things can make it harder for babies to grow healthy before and after they are born. Things like smoking, drinking alcohol, using drugs, living in an unsafe home, not eating well, or feeling a lot of stress can all cause problems. These problems can sometimes last a long time. The New Day program is here to help you with these challenges. Even small changes can make a BIG difference — and we’ll help you every step of the way.
If you are using drugs like heroin or pain pills or are in a program that gives you medicine like methadone or Suboxone, we can connect you with a doctor who knows how to help. We want to help you have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby — and we’re here to support you.
