Scholarships

At Umpqua Health, we believe that a healthy community starts with opportunity—and education is one of the most powerful tools for creating lasting impact. That’s why we’re proud to invest in the future of Douglas County by providing scholarships to individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the health and well-being of our region.

Our Objective

Our scholarship programs are designed to reduce barriers to higher education and professional development, especially for those pursuing careers in healthcare, community services, and culturally responsive care. We are committed to building a stronger, more inclusive healthcare workforce that reflects the diversity of the community we serve.

Health Care Interpreter Scholarship Program

The Health Care Interpreter (HCI) Scholarship Program is designed to increase access to culturally and linguistically appropriate care by supporting bilingual individuals to become Oregon Qualified or Certified HCIs.

This scholarship covers the full cost of the Oregon Health Care Interpreter Association (OHCIA) 60-hour training program and the required language proficiency exams. Eligible applicants must be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or GED, be actively serving our members, and meet language proficiency requirements.
