What Happens at Your Visit
A dental professional will look at your teeth and gums and tell you what they see.
They can also:
- Put fluoride on your teeth to help stop cavities
- Put sealants on back teeth to help prevent cavities, which is helpful for kids
- Put in a temporary filling without any drilling
- Show you how to brush and floss
- Talk with you about food choices that are better for your teeth
- Help you quit tobacco, if you want that
- Give you a free toothbrush kit
- Help you find a dentist and get an appointment
They cannot pull teeth, do root canals, or put in permanent fillings. Call your dentist for those. If you have a toothache, a broken tooth, or swelling, call your dentist right away. For a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
Getting There
You can get a free ride to your visit. You can also ask for an interpreter at no cost.
